Dr Mohamad Mourad

Dr Mohamad Mourad is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based musculoskeletal care. With a patient-centred approach, he believes that surgical treatment is not a one-size-fits-all remedy and works closely with each individual to tailor treatment plans to their unique needs. Dr Mourad specialises in general orthopaedic surgery, with a particular focus on managing sports-related injuries, trauma, and degenerative conditions.

His extensive clinical interests encompass a wide range of sub-specialties, including hand, knee, foot, and ankle surgery. Dr Mourad is highly skilled in treating complex fractures, limb trauma, and sports injuries, such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. He also provides expert care for chronic conditions like arthritis, helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life. In addition to his clinical practice, he is frequently called upon to provide independent medical opinions and expert witness testimony in medico-legal and workers' compensation cases.

Dr Mourad completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney, qualifying in 1998. He went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from the same institution in 2004. He completed his advanced orthopaedic training through the New South Wales Southside Australian Orthopaedic Association programme, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010. He was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2013. Dr Mourad is actively involved in medical education and professional standards, serving as a Clinical Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and as a Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also an International Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has contributed to the field through published research and presentations at major scientific meetings.
