Dr Miriam Wellauer

Dr Miriam Wellauer is an experienced and approachable General Practitioner who brings warmth, compassion, and dedicated care to every consultation. She is committed to providing comprehensive medical support, helping patients navigate their health journeys with confidence. Throughout her career, Dr Wellauer has developed a strong clinical interest in women's health, particularly in supporting women to make informed choices regarding their reproductive wellbeing and menopause management. She is highly skilled in family planning, offering specialised consultations, insertions, and removals of intrauterine devices (IUDs), including hormonal and non-hormonal options. Her expertise also extends to children's and adolescent health, as well as palliative medicine, where she focuses on improving the quality of life for patients facing terminal illnesses and supporting their families. Beyond her clinic work, she has actively contributed to the community by providing essential healthcare services to newly arrived young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds at a local intensive language high school.

Dr Wellauer completed her medical training at the University of Queensland, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), having previously completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc). She holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and has completed the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for Doctors.
