Dr Michael Yelland

Dr Michael Yelland is a highly dedicated General Practitioner who brings a wealth of expertise to his clinical practice. Dr Yelland completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 1983. Demonstrating a strong commitment to postgraduate education, he went on to pass his general practice examinations in 1989, earning a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He further expanded his clinical capabilities by obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine from Flinders University in 1995, followed by a Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine in 2000. In 2005, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Queensland, reflecting his deep engagement with medical research and academic excellence.

In his clinical practice, Dr Yelland specialises in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions and persistent pain. His areas of clinical interest include low back strain, sciatica, neck and upper back strain, referred headaches, and osteoarthritis. He is highly skilled in utilising a variety of advanced treatment modalities to alleviate pain and restore function, such as manual therapy, prolotherapy, regenerative injection treatments, epidurals, and near-nerve injections. Dr Yelland also has extensive experience in medical education and research, having contributed significantly to the training of future General Practitioners and the development of clinical care standards.
