Dr Michael John Stacey

Dr Michael John Stacey is a highly accomplished General Practitioner who brings a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to patient care. Before embarking on his medical career, he established a diverse professional foundation, working as a Medical Research Scientist, Hospital Scientist, Dental Surgeon, and University Clinical Academic. This extensive background in scientific research and clinical practice allows him to approach general medicine with a comprehensive and analytical mindset, ensuring his patients receive well-rounded and evidence-based care.

His medical journey is further distinguished by his significant service as a Medical Officer within the Australian Defence Force. During his time with the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Navy, Dr Stacey gained invaluable experience in high-pressure environments, specialising in aviation medicine, aeromedical evacuation, and underwater medicine. He has served in key operational roles, including deployments as an Aviation Medical Examiner and as a ship's Medical Officer on border protection duties. This rigorous military training has equipped him with advanced skills in managing complex occupational health issues and performing specialised medical assessments.

Dr Stacey completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 1994. Committed to continuous professional development, he went on to obtain a Master of Aviation Medicine, a Diploma in Occupational Medicine, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is also a Fellow of the Australasian College of Aerospace Medicine. His extensive qualifications enable him to conduct highly regulated assessments, including commercial and recreational dive medicals, aviation medicals, and pre-employment corporate health checks.
