Dr Michael Burgess

Dr Michael Burgess is an experienced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon based in Brisbane, specialising in the comprehensive management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and orthognathic surgery. With a dual qualification in both medicine and dentistry, he provides a reassuring and evidence-based approach to complex facial and jaw conditions. Dr Burgess is dedicated to delivering compassionate, individualised care, ensuring that each patient's treatment plan is tailored to their unique functional and aesthetic needs.

Dr Burgess completed his Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Sydney, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Newcastle. He subsequently attained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Committed to continuous professional development and leadership, he also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sydney. Dr Burgess is an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Australian Dental Association, the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Australian Medical Association.

In his clinical practice, Dr Burgess focuses on advanced procedures such as TMJ arthroscopy, open TMJ surgery, total TMJ replacement, and corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery.
