Dr Megan Hobson

Dr Megan Hobson is a highly qualified adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and Otolaryngologist who provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. With a dedicated focus on both adult and paediatric conditions, Dr Hobson is committed to delivering reassuring, patient-centred care. She has a particular interest in paediatric ear, nose, and throat disorders, working closely with children and their families to manage complex airway, sinus, and hearing issues. Her clinical approach is collaborative and compassionate, ensuring that patients and their families feel supported throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Hobson began her medical journey by completing a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle, which she obtained in 2000. She initially trained as a General Surgeon before sub-specialising in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. To further refine her expertise, she completed advanced fellowship training in Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery. Dr Hobson obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009. She maintains active memberships in several prestigious professional organisations, including the Australian New Zealand Society of Paediatric Otolaryngology, the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and the Australasian College of Ear Nose and Throat Physicians.

In her clinical practice, Dr Hobson manages a wide range of conditions, with special expertise in paediatric airway disorders, tonsillitis, glue ear, and salivary gland disorders. She is highly skilled in performing advanced procedures such as adult and paediatric sialendoscopy, nasal and sinus surgery, and middle ear surgery. Additionally, she is deeply involved in the collaborative management of obstructive sleep apnoea in children. Beyond her clinical work, Dr Hobson is passionate about medical education, actively participating in the training, selection, and supervision of Junior Doctors, ENT Trainees, and Paediatric ENT Fellows.
