Dr Max Ryder

Dr Max Ryder is a dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients across regional communities. With a clinical approach focused on patient-centred care, he supports individuals and families through a wide range of medical needs. His practice spans both general medicine and specialised hospital-based care, allowing him to deliver continuity of treatment for acute and chronic conditions alike.

As a General Practitioner with advanced training, Dr Ryder has developed key clinical interests in obstetrics, sexual health, and palliative care. He is particularly passionate about supporting women through every stage of pregnancy, offering comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care. In addition to his obstetric work, Dr Ryder is deeply committed to end-of-life care, providing compassionate home-based palliative services to ensure patients can remain in comfort surrounded by their families. He has also been actively involved in clinical coordination and advocacy for voluntary assisted dying, helping to navigate complex end-of-life pathways with sensitivity and professionalism.

Dr Ryder completed his medical training at James Cook University, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). To further his expertise in rural and regional medicine, he achieved Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) in 2021. He also holds an Advanced Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG ADV), reflecting his specialised capabilities in maternal and reproductive health.
