Dr Matthew Shields is a highly dedicated Sexual Health Physician and General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, compassionate care in the field of sexual health medicine. With a patient-centred approach, he focuses on delivering confidential, non-judgemental support to individuals from all walks of life. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of preventative and therapeutic services, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of medical attention tailored to their unique needs.

Throughout his career, Dr Shields has developed a strong focus on HIV medicine, viral hepatitis management (including treatment for Hepatitis B and C), and the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). He is highly experienced in prescribing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and managing complex cases of genital dermatology. His expertise also extends to providing supportive care, education, and counselling for diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ communities, sex workers, and adolescents.

Dr Shields completed his medical education at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1997.
