Dr Mary-Ann Germain

Dr Mary-Ann Germain is a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in child, adolescent, and family psychiatry. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she provides comprehensive assessment and management for a diverse range of mental health concerns. Dr Germain is committed to supporting her patients through tailored therapeutic interventions, utilising a psychodynamic framework to address complex emotional and behavioural challenges.

Throughout her clinical practice, Dr Germain has developed a broad range of expertise, spanning across various age groups from infants and children to teenagers and adults. Her areas of clinical interest include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia, and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Additionally, she provides expert care for individuals experiencing autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders. By incorporating family therapy and psychodynamic modalities, she aims to foster resilience and promote long-term mental well-being.

Dr Germain completed her medical training at the University of Sydney, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (Medical) in 1984, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1987. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Demonstrating clinical excellence, she was awarded the prestigious Maddison Medallion by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1994, an honour recognising outstanding performance in the college's fellowship examinations.
