Dr Young completed his medical training at the University of Queensland, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Following his undergraduate studies, he undertook extensive specialist training in anaesthesia, ultimately achieving Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. As a Fellow, he actively maintains his clinical skills and knowledge in line with the highest professional standards.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Young is deeply involved in medical education, training, and professional governance. He has served in key leadership roles within the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, including contributing to the Training Accreditation Committee.
