Dr Mabel Chew

Dr Mabel Chew is a highly dedicated General Practitioner and Palliative Medicine Specialist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care. With a clinical background that spans general practice, palliative care, and aged care, she is committed to supporting patients through all stages of life. Dr Chew has a particular interest in women's health, mental health, and chronic pain management, offering a reassuring and holistic approach to complex health needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Chew is an accomplished medical journal editor, having served as a Senior Editor, Associate Editor, and Deputy Editor for several prestigious international medical publications. Her work in medical publishing reflects her deep commitment to evidence-based medicine, ethical publishing practices, and advancing equity within the global healthcare community. She has also contributed to the education of future medical professionals as a university Lecturer.

Dr Chew completed her medical education at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. She went on to obtain her specialist qualifications, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine. She established her career in general practice in the mid-1990s, following clinical work in palliative medicine and aged care.
