Dr Louisa Sukkar

Dr Louisa Sukkar is a highly dedicated and compassionate Nephrologist and General Physician who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a deep clinical interest in all aspects of renal medicine, she focuses on the early detection, prevention, and management of chronic kidney disease. Dr Sukkar works closely with her patients to deliver personalised treatment plans that address complex renal conditions, including hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, and cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic disorders. Her reassuring and objective approach ensures that patients feel supported throughout their healthcare journey, whether they are managing early-stage kidney disease or navigating advanced therapies such as dialysis and transplantation.

Dr Sukkar completed her comprehensive medical education and training in Sydney, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and has completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focusing on chronic kidney disease and metabolic health. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Sukkar is actively involved in research and education. She serves as a Clinical Lecturer, teaching medical students and mentoring internal medicine candidates preparing for specialist training. Her dedication to clinical research and medical education ensures she remains at the forefront of the latest advancements in renal medicine.
