Before pursuing her career in medicine, Dr Elyse Garth established a solid foundation in healthcare by qualifying as a Pharmacist. This background in pharmacy provides her with a deep and comprehensive understanding of pharmacology and medication management. She is particularly passionate about ensuring that her patients are only prescribed medications that offer genuine therapeutic benefits, working closely with them to optimise their treatment plans and avoid unnecessary prescriptions.

In her clinical practice, Dr Elyse Garth has developed a diverse range of special interests. She is highly skilled in chronic disease management, with a strong focus on preventative medicine, blood pressure management, heart health, and cholesterol management. Additionally, she is deeply committed to women's health, offering comprehensive services such as antenatal shared care, contraception advice, cervical screening, and consultations for the medical termination of pregnancy. Dr Elyse Garth completed her tertiary education with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) before going on to obtain her Doctor of Medicine (MD).
