Dr Krishan Gupta

Dr Krishan Gupta is a highly qualified Consultant Physician, Respiratory Physician, and Sleep Medicine Physician. With a commitment to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care, he focuses on diagnosing and managing a diverse range of thoracic and sleep-related disorders. Dr Gupta is dedicated to ensuring that patients receive high-quality, accessible medical care, tailoring his clinical approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.

His broad areas of clinical interest encompass chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung diseases. Dr Gupta also provides expert evaluation and management for chronic cough, atypical lung infections, and lung cancer. In the field of sleep medicine, he addresses sleep-disordered breathing, including obstructive sleep apnoea, central sleep apnoea, and obesity hypoventilation syndrome, alongside conditions like insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome. To support accurate diagnosis and treatment, he performs specialised procedures including bronchoscopy and the insertion of intercostal chest drains.

Dr Gupta completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pulmonary Medicine and Tuberculosis at a leading university in Delhi, India, in 2004. He subsequently relocated to Australia, where he undertook extensive postgraduate retraining at a major tertiary referral hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Gupta is actively involved in medical education and leadership. He serves as a Director of Physician Education, an Educational Supervisor for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and a Senior Lecturer. He has also contributed to the medical community through research publications in international peer-reviewed journals, ensuring his practice remains aligned with the latest clinical advancements.
