Dr Kerryn Loftus

Dr Kerryn Loftus is a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist and Psychogeriatrician who specialises in the psychiatry of old age. Practising in Frenchs Forest, Australia, she provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to individuals navigating complex mental health challenges. Dr Loftus is committed to delivering a holistic and reassuring clinical experience, ensuring that patients and their families feel supported and understood throughout their treatment journey.

With a strong focus on the mental health of older populations, Dr Loftus has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of mood and anxiety disorders. She is highly skilled in treating neuropsychiatric disorders, including dementia and cognitive decline, and addresses the complex behavioural and psychological symptoms that can arise from these conditions. Her clinical practice is informed by a deep understanding of the unique needs of older adults, and she is particularly interested in the safe and appropriate management of psychotropic medications.

Dr Loftus completed her medical education with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), and went on to obtain a Master of Medicine in Psychiatry (MMed(Psyc)) as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and holds a sub-specialty Fellowship in the Psychiatry of Old Age (FPOA). To maintain the highest standards of clinical practice, she is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA).
