Dr Kerry Jane Whannel

Dr Kerry Jane Whannel is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, community-based medical care for patients of all ages. With a holistic approach to healthcare, she is committed to delivering whole-person and whole-family care, guiding her patients through both simple and complex health journeys. Dr Whannel believes in the profound value of longitudinal, preventative medicine, ensuring that every individual receives personalised and supportive treatment tailored to their unique needs.

Throughout her diverse career, Dr Whannel has developed a broad range of clinical interests and expertise. She has a strong focus on women's and men's health, adolescent health and wellbeing, neurodivergent health, and mental health. Additionally, she is highly skilled in skin cancer medicine, offering thorough skin cancer checks, early detection, and surgical management. Her clinical capabilities also extend to minor surgical procedures, Implanon insertion, iron infusions, antenatal care, and chronic disease management, allowing her to provide versatile and high-quality care to her patients.

Dr Whannel graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2000 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). She initially pursued extensive postgraduate training within surgical disciplines, focusing particularly on breast disease, before relocating to Australia. She transitioned into General Practice and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2018. Committed to continuous professional development, she also completed an Advanced Diploma in Emergency Medicine with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine in 2023, alongside Professional and Advanced Certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and Skin Cancer Surgery.
