Dr Kelvin Lam

Dr Kelvin Lam is a highly qualified Consultant Anaesthetist who is dedicated to ensuring that every patient's surgical journey is as smooth, safe, and comfortable as possible. Recognising that undergoing a medical procedure can be a source of anxiety, Dr Lam approaches his practice with a reassuring and patient-centred focus. He works closely with individuals to design tailored anaesthetic plans that align with their unique medical histories and specific clinical needs, providing compassionate care from the initial pre-operative assessment through to post-operative pain management.

Dr Lam graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2006, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours. He subsequently completed rigorous Specialist Anaesthetist training across several major metropolitan teaching hospitals. To further refine his expertise, he undertook dual fellowships in general anaesthesia and simulation education. Dr Lam holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching and is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). He is also an active member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists.

In his clinical practice, Dr Lam provides high-quality anaesthetic services across a diverse range of surgical specialties. He maintains particular clinical interests in orthopaedic, obstetric, vascular, and colorectal surgery. Beyond his direct clinical responsibilities, Dr Lam is deeply committed to medical education. He is actively involved in simulation-based training and regularly teaches courses focused on the management of anaesthetic crises, helping to uphold safety standards and clinical excellence within the wider medical community.
