About Dr Keith Fay

Dr Keith Fay is a highly regarded Consultant Haematologist and Clinical Pathologist who specialises in both clinical and laboratory haematology. With a primary focus on malignant haematology, Dr Fay is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals diagnosed with blood cancers and other complex haematological disorders. His clinical expertise is particularly centred on the application of blood and bone marrow stem cell transplantation as a curative therapy, alongside the administration of high-dose chemotherapy.

Dr Fay obtained his medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Otago in New Zealand. Following his graduation, he completed dual specialist training in clinical and laboratory haematology in Auckland. To further refine his expertise, he undertook advanced postgraduate training in blood and bone marrow stem cell transplantation in Australia. Dr Fay is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA). He maintains active memberships with several prestigious professional organisations, including the Haematology Society of Australia, the Australasian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group, the American Society of Haematology, and the European Haematology Association.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Fay is deeply committed to medical education and research. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, sharing his extensive knowledge of clinical and laboratory haematology through university medical programmes. His participation in multidisciplinary cancer care teams ensures that his patients benefit from collaborative, evidence-based treatment strategies. Dr Fay also contributes to the advancement of his field through clinical trials and research, particularly focusing on improving outcomes for patients undergoing stem cell transplants and therapies for haematological malignancies.
