Dr Katarina Akram

Dr Katarina Akram is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care. Known for her reassuring and structured approach, she focuses on building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients to support their long-term health journeys. Dr Akram combines her broad general practice expertise with a deep interest in mental health and neurodiversity, ensuring that every individual feels heard, understood, and supported.

With advanced training in mental health and psychiatry, Dr Akram offers specialised care in neurodivergent conditions, including the assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Her clinical expertise also extends to managing complex psychological presentations, utilising her training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to provide comprehensive support. Additionally, she is highly experienced in chronic disease management, particularly for neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease, as well as women's health and minor surgical procedures.

Dr Akram completed her medical education in the United Kingdom, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honours alongside her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She is a UK-trained General Practitioner who has pursued extensive postgraduate training across both the United Kingdom and Australia. Dr Akram holds dual Fellowships with the Royal College of General Practitioners in the UK and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development, she is an active member of the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Specific Interests Group for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Neurodiversity.
