Dr Karinna Fyfe

Dr Karinna Fyfe is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Having grown up in Launceston, she returned to her home town to raise her family after completing her medical training and gaining valuable clinical experience on the mainland. Dr Fyfe is committed to supporting patients of all ages and backgrounds, offering a reassuring and professional approach to family medicine.

Dr Fyfe completed her medical studies in Melbourne, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and public health, she also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH). She completed her postgraduate training in General Practice and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2020.

Prior to focusing on family medicine, Dr Fyfe gained extensive experience working in hospital departments dedicated to paediatrics, obstetrics, and gynaecology. This background laid the foundation for her special interest in women's and children's health. She is highly skilled in managing a wide range of women's health concerns, including pre-conception planning, fertility, menopause management, and contraceptive advice, and is fully trained in intrauterine device (IUD) insertion. Additionally, she has undertaken specialised training in Neuroprotective Developmental Care, which allows her to provide evidence-based support to mothers experiencing breastfeeding issues, infant sleep difficulties, and unsettled baby behaviours.
