Dr Karin Timmers

Dr Karin Timmers is a dedicated General Paediatrician and Adolescent Physician who provides comprehensive, compassionate care to infants, children, and young people. With a strong focus on holistic, child-centred care, she specialises in managing both acute and chronic medical conditions. Dr Timmers has a particular interest in adolescent health, offering vital support to young people and their families navigating complex physical and mental health challenges.

Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of paediatric and adolescent concerns. Dr Timmers is highly skilled in addressing general medical problems, developmental issues, and learning difficulties. She has a special interest in supporting children and families dealing with eating disorders and weight management, as well as managing mental health and behavioural concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and behavioural issues associated with emotional dysregulation. Her reassuring and patient-focused approach ensures that families feel supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Dr Timmers obtained her medical degree in the Netherlands before relocating to Australia, where she completed her specialist paediatric training. Her postgraduate qualifications include a Master of Public Health, and she has completed advanced training as an Adolescent Fellow, focusing on complex medical and mental health issues in young people. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience working across major tertiary paediatric centres, as well as regional and rural hospitals. Dr Timmers is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
