Dr Jonathan Kong

Dr Jonathan Kong is a highly regarded Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and Otolaryngologist who provides comprehensive care for both adult and paediatric patients. With a dedicated focus on otology, hearing restoration, and paediatric ENT, Dr Kong is committed to delivering optimal patient outcomes. He utilises minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as endoscopic ear surgery, to promote faster healing times and minimise discomfort. Known for his reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Kong prioritises clear communication, ensuring that patients and their families thoroughly understand their conditions and treatment pathways.

Dr Kong completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2000. He undertook his Specialist surgical training in Sydney before pursuing advanced post-fellowship training in the United Kingdom and Europe, where he focused on complex ear surgery, cochlear implantation, and acoustic neuroma surgery. He holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, as well as a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS). Dr Kong is also an active member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS).

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Kong is deeply involved in medical education and research. He serves as an Associate Professor and regularly mentors Surgical Specialist Trainees, Fellows, and Medical Students. As a Director of a visiting otology fellowship programme, he trains fully qualified Surgeons in advanced ear surgery techniques. He also conducts regular hands-on courses in temporal bone surgery and endoscopic ear surgery, contributing significantly to the advancement of the field both locally and internationally.
