Dr John Saunders

Dr John Saunders is a highly regarded Nephrologist who has dedicated his career to the comprehensive management of kidney health and renal diseases. In his roles as a Staff Specialist and Director of Dialysis Services, he provides expert care to patients navigating complex renal conditions. His clinical practice focuses on delivering patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals facing chronic kidney disease, end-stage kidney disease, and other renal disorders receive tailored, compassionate treatment.

With a strong commitment to advancing the field of renal medicine, Dr Saunders has a particular interest in dialysis therapies, including both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. He is actively involved in clinical research, serving as a Clinical Trials Principal Investigator to help pioneer innovative treatments and improve patient outcomes. His work also encompasses the evaluation of living kidney donors and the optimisation of home-based renal therapies, empowering patients to manage their health with greater independence and confidence.

Dr Saunders completed his medical education at The University of Sheffield, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2000. To further his expertise, he undertook extensive postgraduate training, obtaining membership with the Royal College of Physicians in London (MRCP). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), reflecting his high standards of clinical excellence and dedication to ongoing professional development in the field of Nephrology.
