Dr John Marley

Dr John Marley is a highly distinguished and dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a clinical focus that spans general family medicine, rural and remote medicine, and emergency care, he is committed to delivering reassuring and high-quality healthcare. Dr Marley has a particular interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, as well as the diagnosis and management of dementia, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the specialised attention and support they require.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Marley is a prominent figure in medical education and research. He has held prestigious academic appointments, including serving as a Pro Vice-Chancellor of a major faculty of health and holding Conjoint Professor roles. His extensive involvement in teaching and research allows him to integrate the latest medical advancements and evidence-based practices into his daily clinical care, benefiting his patients through a highly informed approach to medicine.

Dr Marley obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Dundee and subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Adelaide. He has also been awarded an honorary Doctor of Medicine. Dr Marley holds numerous postgraduate qualifications, including a Diploma in Anaesthetics, a Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and a Family Planning Certificate. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
