Dr John Killen

Dr John Killen is a highly regarded Nephrologist and General Physician who dedicatedly cares for patients with a wide range of kidney conditions. With a clinical approach focused on patient-centred care, he specialises in diagnosing and managing complex renal disorders. Dr Killen is particularly interested in hypertension management, the perioperative care of patients with kidney disease, vascular access, and anaemia management in patients with chronic kidney disease. He is committed to improving cardiovascular outcomes for those living with chronic kidney conditions and optimising dialysis treatments.

Dr Killen completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of New South Wales, qualifying in 1999. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, reflecting his advanced training and expertise in internal medicine and nephrology. Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice, ensuring his patients receive the highest standard of medical care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Killen is actively involved in medical education and research. He holds university appointments where he lectures and teaches medical students, and he also supervises and trains Advanced Trainee Registrars in renal medicine.
