Dr John Hackett

Dr John Hackett is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages. With a broad clinical background that spans multiple medical disciplines, Dr Hackett has accumulated extensive experience practising in General Practice, Anaesthetics, and Obstetrics. His medical career has taken him across several states in Australia, as well as to the United Kingdom and Canada, allowing him to bring a wealth of diverse international and regional healthcare insights to his patients.

In his daily practice, Dr Hackett focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. He has a particular interest in chronic disease management, preventative health, and minor surgical procedures. His clinical expertise also encompasses specialised services such as Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C management, therapeutic injections, and the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants. Additionally, he is qualified to provide specialised travel medicine services, including Q-Fever testing and vaccinations, as well as Yellow Fever vaccinations.

Dr Hackett holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and the Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP). Reflecting his diverse clinical training, he also holds a Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Dip. RACOG) and a Diploma in Anaesthetics from the United Kingdom (DA (UK)). Committed to the future of the medical profession, Dr Hackett actively engages in teaching and supervising General Practitioner Registrars and Medical Students, sharing his extensive knowledge with the next generation of healthcare providers.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr Hackett is an active member of his local community. He organises local hockey competitions and rogaining events, reflecting his passion for outdoor activities and community engagement. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, playing tennis, bike riding, and skiing.
