Dr John Guymer

Dr John Guymer is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare to patients in Shepparton, Australia. Born and raised in the local area, he is deeply committed to supporting the health and well-being of his community. Throughout his career, Dr Guymer has delivered whole-of-life care, supporting individuals and families from antenatal stages through to aged care. His reassuring and patient-centred approach ensures that every individual receives personalised and thorough medical attention.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Guymer has extensive experience across all facets of family medicine. He has a particular interest in obstetrics and antenatal care, having spent many years delivering babies and supporting expectant mothers. Additionally, he is passionate about community health, which includes providing medical care to disadvantaged youth and managing chronic health conditions. Dr Guymer also possesses significant expertise in emergency medicine, having served as an Area Medical Co-ordinator for the state disaster plan and as a regional Full Emergency Medical Officer.

Dr Guymer completed his medical education at the University of Melbourne, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., B.S.) and a Bachelor of Medical Science (B.Med.Sci). To further his expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology, he obtained a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Dip. R.A.C.O.G.P.). Before returning to practice in his hometown of Shepparton, he gained valuable clinical experience working in both Melbourne and Gippsland.
