Dr John Gillett is a highly dedicated Palliative Medicine Specialist who brings a compassionate, holistic approach to patient care. With an extensive background as a rural General Practitioner, he has spent much of his career providing essential medical services to regional and remote communities. Dr Gillett is deeply committed to improving the quality of life for patients facing life-limiting illnesses, focusing on comprehensive symptom management and supportive care that respects the unique wishes of each individual and their family.

In his clinical practice, Dr Gillett specialises in community-based palliative care and end-of-life services. He is a strong advocate for delivering high-quality care within comfortable, familiar environments, such as a patient's home or a residential aged care facility. His clinical interests are highly diverse, integrating traditional Western medicine with complementary therapies, including Acupuncture, Homoeopathy, and Osteopathy, to provide multi-dimensional pain relief. Furthermore, Dr Gillett has undertaken advanced academic research, completing a Doctor of Philosophy focused on the safety of palliative care patients who require opioid medications for pain management.

Dr Gillett obtained his primary medical degree, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and has since pursued rigorous postgraduate training to achieve multiple specialist qualifications.
