Dr John Bothman

Dr John Bothman is a highly qualified and dedicated Clinical Pathologist who provides essential diagnostic expertise to support patient care. Specialising as an Anatomical Pathologist and a General Pathologist, he plays a crucial role in analysing tissue samples and laboratory results to help clinicians make accurate diagnoses and formulate effective treatment plans. His reassuring and meticulous approach ensures that every diagnostic evaluation is conducted with the highest level of precision and care.

With a broad range of expertise, Dr Bothman has developed particular clinical interests in fine needle aspiration cytology, gastrointestinal pathology, and dermatopathology. His work in general clinical pathology allows him to oversee diverse laboratory investigations, ensuring that patients receive reliable and timely diagnostic insights. Dr Bothman graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1973. Following a period working as a General Practitioner, he commenced his specialist training as a Pathology Registrar in 1976, completing his qualification in general pathology in 1981. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and a Member of the International Academy of Cytology. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Bothman has held significant leadership roles, including serving as a Chief Examiner in general and clinical pathology, and as an Examiner in anatomical pathology for the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He also holds active memberships with the International Academy of Pathology and the Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists.
