Dr Joan San

Dr Joan San is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, whole-person care to individuals and families. With a strong belief in patient empowerment, she strives to ensure that her patients feel thoroughly informed, heard, and confident in their healthcare decisions. Dr San views general practice as an opportunity to deliver proactive, progressive health concepts, with a particular focus on healthy longevity and preventative medicine.

Throughout her career, Dr San has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. She is highly skilled in women's health and pregnancy care, having worked extensively as a GP Obstetrician and Maternity Shared Care Provider. Her expertise also extends to skin cancer medicine, where she performs detailed skin checks and surgical treatments, supported by advanced training in dermoscopy. Additionally, she is passionate about travel medicine, preventative health, and healthy longevity medicine, helping patients optimise their well-being at every stage of life. She also regularly assists in surgical procedures as a Surgical Assistant, further broadening her clinical capabilities.

Dr San completed her medical training at the University of Melbourne, qualifying in 1999, and undertook her residency years at a major metropolitan hospital. She then pursued postgraduate training in Northeast Victoria, where she obtained her General Practice Registration via the rural pathway and completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr San is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG). Committed to continuous professional development, she has also earned an Expert Certificate in Dermoscopy and a Certificate in Travel Health (CTH).
