Dr Jenson Mak

Dr Jenson Mak is a highly dedicated Consultant Physician, Geriatrician, and Rehabilitation Specialist based in Sydney, Australia. He is deeply passionate about healthy ageing, focusing on helping middle-aged and older individuals optimise both mind and body. Dr Mak adopts a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to patient care, combining traditional Western medicine with an appreciation for complementary and alternative therapies. He is committed to supporting not only his patients but also their caregivers, advocating for non-English speaking patients to ensure they can access essential healthcare resources.

With a strong focus on preventative medicine, Dr Mak specialises in managing complex disorders of the elderly. His clinical interests include memory disorders, mobility optimisation, and falls prevention. He also provides expert care for conditions such as osteoarthritis, bone health, diabetes, chronic neurological disorders, and acute and chronic pain. Dr Mak is dedicated to identifying hidden health issues and working collaboratively with referring General Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals to deliver comprehensive, tailored treatment plans.

Dr Mak completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) at the University of New South Wales. He later earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Sydney, focusing his research on vitamin D, hip fractures, and active rehabilitation. Dr Mak is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM), and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). Additionally, he holds memberships with the Australian Medical Association and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine, and has served as a Senior Lecturer.
