Dr Jayantha Rupasinghe

Dr Jayantha Rupasinghe is a highly dedicated Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. With a primary clinical focus on stroke and headache management, he is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care. His reassuring approach helps patients navigate complex neurological diagnoses with confidence and clarity.

Dr Rupasinghe completed his medical training in Sri Lanka and Australia, subsequently completing his specialist training in neurological medicine in 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a Doctor of Medicine (MD), and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2010. Demonstrating a strong commitment to his field, he is an active member of several prestigious organisations, including the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, the Stroke Society of Australasia, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the American Academy of Neurology, the World Stroke Organisation, the American Headache Society, the European Federation of Neurology, and the Sri Lanka Medical Association.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Rupasinghe is deeply involved in medical education and research. He serves as a Clinical Supervisor for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, and actively assists in training basic and advanced Physician Trainees. He also contributes his expertise as a Regional Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. His research interests are focused on acute stroke management at both national and international levels, ensuring his clinical practice remains at the forefront of modern neurological advancements.
