Dr Jatheesh Pala Valappil is a highly dedicated and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care to his patients. Dr Pala Valappil commenced his medical journey in India, where he completed his basic medical qualification (MBBS) in 1998 and subsequently obtained his Diploma in Psychological Medicine in 2002. Seeking to expand his expertise, he relocated to the United Kingdom, where he achieved Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2006. After moving to Australia, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2011. Additionally, he has been a certified Independent Medical Examiner since 2014, conducting detailed medico-legal assessments.

Throughout his career, Dr Pala Valappil has developed a broad range of clinical interests within adult psychiatry. He specialises in the assessment and management of complex conditions, including psychosis, mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. His expertise also extends to treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), somatoform disorders, and organic brain disorders, as well as mental illnesses secondary to general medical conditions. Furthermore, he is highly skilled in addiction medicine, providing specialised care for substance use disorders, including inpatient opioid detoxification and opioid replacement therapy.
