Dr James Matthews

Dr James Matthews is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to his patients. He began his medical career working as a General Practitioner in regional New South Wales, where he developed a strong foundation in family medicine. Known for his gentle nature and warm sense of humour, Dr Matthews prioritises building strong, trusting relationships with individuals and families to support their long-term health and well-being.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Matthews provides expert care across various aspects of General Practice, including paediatric medicine and mental health. In addition to general family medicine, he has a particular passion for skin cancer medicine. He offers skilled prevention advice, thorough skin checks, and precise cancer removals, focusing on achieving excellent cosmetic results for his patients.

Dr Matthews has pursued extensive postgraduate education to deliver the highest standard of clinical care. He holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours, and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. Furthering his expertise, he completed a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer at the University of Queensland and holds a Sydney Child Health Programme qualification. Dr Matthews is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is a fully accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
