Dr James Collett

Dr James Collett is a highly dedicated Nephrologist and General Physician who provides comprehensive care to patients in Dubbo, Australia. Specialising in Nephrology (Renal Medicine) alongside General Medicine, he is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to the regional community. Dr Collett focuses on diagnosing, managing, and treating a wide range of kidney-related conditions, ensuring his patients receive reassuring and professional support throughout their healthcare journey.

With a clinical approach rooted in collaboration and evidence-based practice, Dr Collett manages complex cases involving chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and kidney transplantation. He enjoys working across both renal and general medicine, which allows him to address the multifaceted health needs of his patients. His practice is characterised by a reassuring bedside manner and a strong focus on improving patient outcomes and quality of life in regional areas.

Dr Collett completed his medical education at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2009. He subsequently undertook extensive training to become a Specialist in renal medicine, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Driven by a passion for training future Medical Professionals, he also obtained a Master of Clinical Education (M Clin Ed) and serves as a Senior Lecturer and Year 2 Co-ordinator for a regional medical programme. He is an active member of professional organisations, including the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN), and has contributed to initiatives with Kidney Health Australia.
