Dr Jacques De Haan

Dr Jacques De Haan is a highly regarded Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon who provides comprehensive adult and paediatric otolaryngology services to communities across the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. With a clinical focus that encompasses all aspects of general ear, nose, and throat care, Dr De Haan is particularly interested in advanced ear and sinus surgeries. He is dedicated to delivering patient-centred, reassuring care, ensuring that individuals of all ages receive tailored treatment plans for their specific ENT conditions.

Dr De Haan obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He completed his specialist training in otorhinolaryngology at prominent academic and paediatric hospitals in Cape Town, earning a Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa in Otorhinolaryngology, FCS(Otol)SA. To further his professional standing and align with Australian medical standards, he also attained a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr De Haan has held several prestigious academic and clinical appointments. He served as a Senior Consultant and joint staff member at major university teaching hospitals in South Africa before relocating. Demonstrating a deep commitment to humanitarian work, he spent a significant portion of his career regularly visiting a mission hospital in Malawi, where he was often the sole specialist providing vital ENT care to the entire nation. Prior to establishing his current practice on the Mid North Coast, he spent several years in the Northern Territory, serving as the Head of ENT and Hearing Health for a regional hospital network.
