Dr Iresha De Silva

Dr Iresha De Silva is a dedicated General and Developmental Paediatrician who provides comprehensive care for children of all ages, from newborns through to adolescents. She is deeply committed to the health, development, and overall wellbeing of her young patients, adopting a holistic approach that prioritises family welfare. Dr De Silva specialises in managing both general paediatric conditions and complex developmental or behavioural challenges, ensuring that each child receives compassionate and tailored medical support.

Her clinical interests span a broad spectrum of paediatric medicine. Dr De Silva has extensive expertise in developmental and behavioural paediatrics, including the assessment, diagnosis, and management of conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental delay, anxiety, and learning difficulties. She is also highly skilled in addressing general paediatric concerns, including asthma, growth and nutrition, constipation, and enuresis. For infants and newborns, she provides expert guidance on feeding difficulties, reflux, sleep and settling issues, and is qualified to assess and perform tongue-tie releases when clinically indicated.

Dr De Silva completed her medical degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and went on to earn a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Sydney. She completed her specialist paediatric training at a major tertiary children's hospital, achieving dual fellowships in General Paediatrics and Community and Developmental Paediatrics. Dr De Silva is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and an active Member of the Australian Society for Developmental Paediatrics. Additionally, she is an accredited administrator of specialised assessment tools, including the Griffiths III Developmental Assessment Scales and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2).
