Dr Imran Shiekh

Dr Imran Shiekh is a highly qualified Consultant Cardiologist who specialises as a General Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive and reassuring cardiac care. Dr Shiekh has a particular interest in preventive cardiology, actively promoting the management of cardiovascular risk factors to help patients maintain optimal heart health. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, ensuring that patients receive personalised care tailored to their individual needs.

As a dual-trained Cardiologist, Dr Shiekh possesses advanced expertise in Interventional Cardiology and advanced heart failure management. He is highly skilled in performing various coronary interventional procedures, including radial and femoral access coronary interventions, coronary stenting, and revascularisation. His clinical interests also extend to the assessment and management of complex conditions such as chest pain syndromes, acute coronary syndrome, spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), microvascular coronary artery disease, and heart failure. Additionally, he is accredited in advanced cardiac imaging, specifically Cardiac CT imaging, which allows for precise diagnostic assessments.

Dr Shiekh obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kashmir University in 2003. He then completed his basic physician training in the United Kingdom and Australia, followed by advanced specialist training in cardiology at a major Australian tertiary hospital. To further refine his skills, he undertook prestigious post-graduate fellowships in Interventional Cardiology across leading institutions in Canada and Australia, as well as a dedicated fellowship in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation. Dr Shiekh is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ).
