Dr Ian Dumbrell

Dr Ian Dumbrell is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to his patients. With a strong commitment to community health, he focuses on delivering personalised medical care that addresses the unique needs of each individual. His clinical approach is characterised by a reassuring and thorough manner, ensuring that patients feel supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Throughout his career, Dr Dumbrell has gained extensive experience working in diverse medical environments, particularly within rural and remote settings across Australia. His background includes providing vital medical care to remote communities and working in rural hospital settings. In addition to his clinical practice, he is deeply committed to medical education, sharing his knowledge and expertise as a GP Supervisor to guide the next generation of Medical Registrars.

Dr Dumbrell completed his medical education at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1986. To further expand his clinical capabilities, he obtained a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and completed basic specialist training in Anaesthesia in the United Kingdom in 1994. These qualifications equip him with a broad and versatile skill set, allowing him to manage a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions with confidence.
