Dr Haroon Riaz

Dr Haroon Riaz is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive, patient-focused care. With a professional philosophy that prioritises the needs of his patients, he is committed to delivering the latest evidence-based interventions. Dr Riaz works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure the most favourable outcomes for those under his care. He adopts an eclectic and psychodynamic therapy approach, tailoring his treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.

As a specialist in General Adult Psychiatry, Dr Riaz has a diverse range of clinical interests. He specialises in the assessment and management of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Additionally, he is a Comorbidity and Dual Diagnosis Specialist, with particular expertise in addictive disorders. His practice also encompasses transcultural psychiatry, allowing him to provide culturally sensitive care to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Dr Riaz obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and completed his specialist psychiatric training in Australia. He commenced his training in Queensland before completing it in Western Australia. Dr Riaz is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and is an Accredited Member of the Faculty of Adult Psychiatry. Throughout his career, he has worked across rural and metropolitan public health systems, community mental health clinics, and private practice.
