Dr O'Donnell completed his Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney in 2005, before going on to graduate with a Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours from the same institution in 2009. Committed to broadening his expertise in healthcare, he also obtained a Master of Public Health and a Master of Health Management from the University of New South Wales. In 2013, he became a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, subsequently achieving a Fellowship in the field of General Dental Practice in 2016.
