About Dr Gian Urbani

Dr. Gian Urbani is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in endometriosis, minimally invasive surgery, and fertility care. He currently practices at Fertility North, located within Joondalup Private Hospital, where he provides advanced surgical and reproductive treatments tailored to women’s health needs.

After completing his MBChB and Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of the Free State in South Africa, Dr. Urbani began his specialist career in 2001. He later spent eight years in Western Canada and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). Since moving to Australia in 2011, he has joined the Joondalup Health Campus team and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). He also holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine from UNSW, Sydney.

Dr. Urbani treats a wide range of conditions, including endometriosis, infertility, pelvic pain, heavy or irregular bleeding, ovarian cysts, contraceptive issues, recurrent miscarriage, post-menopausal bleeding, prolapse and incontinence, and abnormal cervical smears. Dedicated to both patient care and education, he remains active in the public health system, teaching clinical and surgical skills to the next generation of doctors.
