Dr Bruxner completed his medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1988. To further his expertise in mental health, he undertook specialist training to qualify as a Psychiatrist and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). His strong academic foundation and ongoing involvement in clinical research ensure that his practice remains aligned with the latest evidence-based advancements in psychiatric care.

Throughout his career, Dr Bruxner has developed a broad range of clinical interests as a Consultant Psychiatrist, spanning general adult psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and child and youth mental health. He has extensive experience in managing complex conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Additionally, Dr Bruxner has a keen interest in addressing eating disorders, trauma-related conditions, and the psychiatric implications of chronic physical illnesses, ensuring a holistic approach to both mental and physical well-being.
