Dr Geoff Speldewinde

Dr Geoff Speldewinde is a highly regarded Pain Medicine Specialist and Rehabilitation Physician who is dedicated to helping patients manage acute and chronic pain. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, he focuses on validating each individual's pain experience and working collaboratively to restore function, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. Dr Speldewinde believes in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to pain management, combining medical, physical, and psychological strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.

His clinical interests encompass all aspects of general rehabilitation, as well as musculoskeletal and pain management. Dr Speldewinde is uniquely qualified in performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic specialist injection procedures. His expertise includes utilising fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided techniques to deliver precise interventional pain procedures, such as thermal neurotomy, to target persistent joint and spinal pain. By focusing on the sensory components of pain, he aims to provide realistic and effective pathways for long-term relief and rehabilitation.

Dr Speldewinde graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1981. He subsequently obtained his Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 1990, followed by a Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and education within his field, he is a past President of the Australian Pain Society and has served on the Board of the Faculty of Pain Medicine. He is also an active member of the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society and has contributed significantly to medical research through peer-reviewed publications on the outcomes of spinal interventions.
