Dr Gavin Manmathan

Dr Gavin Manmathan is a compassionate and dedicated Consultant Cardiologist who is dual-accredited in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine. He is committed to helping patients understand and take active control of their cardiovascular health. Taking a highly personal and thoughtful approach to patient care, Dr Manmathan ensures that individuals feel heard, supported, and confident throughout their medical journey. As a Cardiologist specialising in both General and Interventional Cardiology, Dr Manmathan has extensive expertise in managing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. His clinical interests include coronary heart disease, preventative cardiology, the management of high blood pressure, and the treatment of heart failure. He is highly skilled in performing advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures, including diagnostic angiograms and stent insertions to treat heart attacks, prevent future cardiac events, and alleviate the symptoms of angina. Additionally, he is trained in utilising cutting-edge intravascular imaging technologies, such as infrared and ultrasound, to guide complex coronary interventions.

Dr Manmathan completed his primary medical training in 2006 at The University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours. He completed his specialist training in Cardiology in 2018, during which he successfully obtained the European Examination of General Cardiology. He then undertook advanced sub-specialty training in Interventional Cardiology at a major cardiac centre in London, followed by a further fellowship in Melbourne to gain advanced exposure to complex cases. Dr Manmathan is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate, reflecting his deep commitment to cardiovascular research and education.
