About Dr Elisabeth Rippy

Dr Elisabeth Ellen Rippy is an experienced Consultant Breast Surgeon with specialist expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast reconstruction. She has been practising advanced breast surgery exclusively for over 10 years, with a strong focus on combining oncological safety with optimal cosmetic and psychological outcomes for patients.

Her clinical work covers both benign and malignant breast conditions, including breast cancer surgery, mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery, and a full range of reconstructive procedures. She also treats benign breast problems such as symptomatic breast hypertrophy, including breast reduction surgery for relief of back and neck symptoms. Her approach places particular emphasis on minimising the physical and emotional impact of surgery while supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Dr Rippy is known for her patient-centred philosophy of care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams that include breast care nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists and dietitians. She aims to ensure that patients are fully informed, supported and offered a range of appropriate surgical options, including immediate or delayed reconstruction where suitable.

She is committed to modern oncoplastic techniques and participates in multidisciplinary cancer care, including involvement in clinical trials and long-term follow-up care for breast cancer survivors. She also has a strong interest in teaching and education, regularly presenting at national and international surgical and breast disease meetings, including Royal Australasian College of Surgeons scientific congresses and Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine events.

Dr Rippy holds professional memberships with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Breast SurgANZ, and the Australian Society for Breast Disease.
