Dr Elaine Shek

Dr Elaine Shek is a highly dedicated General Practitioner and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing chronic pain. With a clinical focus on delivering holistic and individualised treatment plans, she supports patients dealing with complex, long-term pain conditions. Dr Shek is committed to helping individuals regain their quality of life by addressing the physical, psychological, and social aspects of chronic pain.

Dr Shek obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Queensland in 1996. Following her initial medical training, she worked extensively in general practice and hospital settings, where she developed a deep interest in chronic pain management. To further her expertise, she undertook advanced training in pain medicine. She holds dual professional fellowships, being a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

In her clinical practice, Dr Shek focuses on a wide range of chronic pain concerns, particularly spinal pain affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions. Her areas of interest also encompass sacroiliac, discogenic, and facet-mediated pain, as well as persistent pain following spinal surgery.
