Dr Edward Bateman

Dr Edward Bateman is a highly regarded Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in advanced surgical care of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. He is widely recognised for his expertise as a Limb Salvage Trauma Reconstruction Surgeon, dedicated to restoring function and mobility for patients who have experienced complex musculoskeletal injuries. Dr Bateman is particularly known for utilising innovative, muscle-preserving surgical techniques, such as the subvastus minimally invasive knee replacement, which are designed to reduce rehabilitation times and support a faster recovery.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Bateman is an active contributor to the advancement of orthopaedic science. He has published numerous innovative research papers on complex reconstructive topics, including arthroscopic-assisted hemicap insertion for engaging Hill-Sachs lesions, patella osteotomy for complex trauma around the knee, and methods for determining rotational deformity in broken forearms.
