Dr Dinushi Weerasinghe

Dr Dinushi Weerasinghe consults with Neurology Network Melbourne and is an expert in the assessment and diagnosis of nerve and muscular disorders using nerve conduction tests and electromyography (EMG).

Dr Weerasinghe first graduated in 2009 with her MBBS from the University of Colombo before undertaking specialist training in neurology at Canberra Hospital. She then spent time at the Liverpool Hospital and Westmead Hospital training in advanced neurology before completing a neurophysiology fellowship in nerve conduction studies and EMG at a hospital in Sydney. Following this, Dr Weerasinghe relocated to the USA where she was based at the neuromuscular unit of the University of Rochester. Here, she completed further training in neuromuscular disorders and neurophysiology and was a departmental fellow in neuromuscular medicine and peripheral nerve disorders.

Dr Weerasinghe has a continued interest in research and has published her work in a number of international medical journals. She is also a member of a number of medical bodies including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the Royal College of Physicians, UK.
