Dr Diarmuid McCoy

Dr Diarmuid McCoy is a highly regarded Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and Anaesthetist who dedicatedly supports patients experiencing complex and persistent pain. Adopting a compassionate and reassuring approach, Dr McCoy focuses on delivering comprehensive, multidisciplinary care tailored to each individual's unique circumstances. Dr McCoy obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from University College Cork, National University of Ireland, qualifying in 1991. He completed his initial vocational training in anaesthesia in Ireland before pursuing a Specialist Fellowship in South Australia. Dr McCoy holds several prestigious professional memberships, including fellowships with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, the Faculty of Pain Medicine (ANZCA), the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and the Faculty of Pain Medicine, College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland. He is also actively involved in medical education, serving as a Senior Lecturer and an examiner for the Faculty of Pain Medicine.

He has a particular clinical interest in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and the psychological aspects of pain processing.
